Sandon Tornado VIC.
This is the Sandon tornado of Victoria which killed two people who decided to stay in their car as the tornado passed over them. The second "prong" seen to the left produced another tornado. Radar echos of the storm reached 17000m or approx 50000ft. There was 3 confirmed tornadoes on this day by the Melbourne BOM. This one below touched down at 5:30pm in the Sandon area and caused $300,000 damage and killed two people. The track was 6k's long and 400m wide and was rated as a strong F-2. The Fujita scale says you need windspeeds of 254kph to lift a car which is an F-3 tornado.
